you grew up in emotionally immature or neglectful environments and learned to adapt to the world by self-sacrificing or people-pleasing. you are now attempting to create a life for yourself and are finding it difficult to authentically express yourself and actually getting what you want. you often end up settling for dynamics and relationships that mirror your primary connection growing up, left feeling defeated and hopeless again and again.
you often feel isolated, like no one could ever truly see or understand you. you are often deemed the black sheep or scapegoat of your family, never feeling truly confident in your personality, so you learned to adapt to fit the room, never allowing yourself the space to show up fully and authentically.
self-sabotage and self-neglect is how you’ve learned to get your emotional needs met, leading you to seek out opportunities and relationships that perpetuate the normalcy of rejection and disappointment. you desperately want change, but feel like nothing ever works and at this point, you feel like you’ve already tried it all.
