Love always,

i feel like we all have

a piece of ourselves

that we lock deep inside

in a place

that hides all the shadows

where light does not reside

this place is like no other

covered by

the prettiest of gates

but masked with

great delusion

this place

it’s not so pretty

you see,

i’ve been here times before.

it’s the place right where i left me.

the place that is no more.

a version of what once was

but what no longer

could ever be

a piece of me that’s hiding

deep beneath

the big blue sea

once you find the rainbow

painted on a lock

you’ll gain access

to the dungeon

where all life

courageously

goes to rot

it’s the lifelessness

that attracts them

so they won’t be forced

to think or feel or see

the reality that lies

right in front of them

the truth that sets us free

they sit here & they wallow

covered in self-pity

but never think

to make a change

to make l i f e

more pretty

i found the key

to my dungeon

& i threw it

far away

because

i don’t want to wallow

or sit up on display

day after freaking day

i want to

live my life

without apology

drowning in

the epitome

of what it means

to be

 f r e e

wouldn’t you like to

find your key

so that you may

come and live

l i f e

f r e e l y

with me
